Comment: There's a persisting rumor amongst ski instructors saying that
Guy Lafleur, a former star of the Montréal Canadiens, who had never skied of his life, learned in just one day to ski so well he could have passed a level 4 test, which is the instructors' highest certification. Level 4 certification means a perfect technique, 10 perfect turns out of 10 in any condition; only very gifted athletes can make it and usually after many years of intensive training. The legend says, of course, that Lafleur had hired an instructor for the day, and it illustrates the stunning differences in talent an instructor encounters between different clients. From an instructor perspective, although surprising, it still is believable. But is it true? |

Never heard it. Seems like something that would have been brought up in one of the hundreds of hockey books I have read over the course of my life. Especially the biography of LaFleur.
