Default A Potential Ghost Experience?

I don't post on this board a lot, but I had a strange experience in my home last night and I'm looking to get other opinions, since nothing inexplicable has ever happened to me before. It happened like this:

I was in my room watching a movie with my girlfriend and I left to get a drink. As I left my room I noticed a set of car keys on the floor directly outside my doorway. I picked them up and put them on the kitchen table. I went back into my room, my girlfriend went home, and I started watching television by myself. About an hour passed. I heard someone bumbling around in the kitchen, which is right outside my bedroom, but I assumed it was my sister with whom I keep similar hours. I heard tame rummaging in the pantry, the refrigerator door being opened and closed (not menacingly, but rather as if to take out food), and the microwave being used. Finally I heard a set of keys drop at my door, and I ran to see who was playing the prank on me. I found the same set of keys with no one out there, in the same spot, and I crossed the house to my sister's room to ask if she had done it. No answer at her door. She was sleeping. I woke her up and she assured me that she hadn't been in the kitchen, so we both started to think there had been an intruder. But upon reexamining the noises I heard and the strange jokey nature of the reappearance of the keys, I began to suspect something else.

Fright

Sleepwalking? And she knocked the keys off the table as she left/got up after doing other routine things from her morning (opening/closing fridge and going through the motions of preparing breakfast)?

I'd think sleepwalking was the best explanation too.

sleepwalking makes a lot of sense

But at the same time I'm guessing there hasn't been past sleepwalking occurances, as otherwise you would have mentioned that/would have just assumed that to be the case and wouldn't have posted, plus the keys fell to the same place as before which is a bit eerie

I suggest you put the keys back again, and you and your sister hang around in your room at around the same time as the other night and wait and see what happens

P.S. I definitely believe ghosts are real, I've had my own experiences and have heard countless other experiences, so keep me updated, i love the paranormal

Sleepwalking seems unlikely because the keys were put in the exact same spot twice. It seems like a conscious joke. If it was my sister--I'm about 100% that it wasn't--then she would have had to be awake to do that bit of business.

By exact same spot do you mean returned to the *exact* position/orientation/order, or roughly the same place, or as though redropped from some height in the same place?

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that the sleepwalker could pick up a set of keys, walk to a door, 'open' it (even if the door isn't closed/locked), and then drop the keys once the action cycle is completed (since it's such a common movement).

I have no doubt your sister is truthful - but the point of sleepwalking is that she wouldn't know she's doing it.

Another explanation is that although you went to pick up the keys, something disturbed you, and you walked away last minute (thinking later that you had picked them up and moved them). I don't know the time it was when this happened as you didn't mention it in the OP, but if it was nighttime it's possible that your tired mind was simply playing tricks on you (which would be likely if your sister was already asleep).

I'm currently on my 4th attempt at entering a file into a personal database, since I keep thinking I've done it (when really I've just picked up the paper, told myself to enter it, been disturbed and promptly forgotten what I was doing).
