She was the caregiver of whoever was the invalid int the film, was that Denzel? It's been awhile since i've seen the movie.

Well, she does have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but that's not saying much these days. I think her last hit was Last Holiday, but she was also in the recent film version of the musical version of Hairspray.

I used to love Living Single, but if I hadn't watched that growing up Queen Latifah might not register on my radar. She does do ads for some makeup company, can't remember whether it's Revlon or Maybelleine (sp?) or some other brand, but some people probably don't realize that it's her. I actually don't know if I've ever seen Queen Latifah in a movie now that I think about it.

Maybe I had a warped US childhood, but I seem to remember the person was Ringo Starr.

And to show my memory is even more warped, but didn't Queen Latifah come out officially? I seem to remember her in an issue of a gay magazine back in the late 90s. I was reading it because Bob Mould was on the cover, and I don't recall if it was a rumor or a real article about her.

Ringo was the original narrator (in both the US and UK versions). In the 1990's he was replaced by Carlin (in the US version only).

When my son was watching a "Thomas" tape once I had to do a double-take, and say to myself, "Is that really George Carlin?"

Yeah, but she didn't have a major part in that, so if you don't know who she is already, it'd be easy to overlook her.

Well I'm going to throw a spanner in the works and say I also had no idea she was so unknown in this country. I'm exactly up on hip hop culture but I was more than aware of her background in that, and I've heard of many of her films too, and *gasp* even seen a couple.

George Carlin, on the other hand, I have never heard of.

Alec Baldwin also did a few Thomas spots, most notably the worst movie I have ever seen: Thomas and the Magic Railroad, which also features Peter Fonda, in a role that screams, "Somebody please fire my agent!"

Who's the Majestik Moose? Over here it's the Elegant Elk.

As I stated, I recognise the name, but that's about it (I did ask the woman (who is much younger than I) "Do you know who Queen Latifah is?" and she said "Of course. Who doesn't?").

Besides that, the word pitt is a mild slang word for the male sexual organ and AFAIK he knows it.

Who is he? Once again a name that I have come across somewhere, but has no idea who it is.

Shining Time Station was the US spin-off of Thomas the Tank Engine, and both Starr and Carlin appeared in both (although not at the same time).

Project Runway, Top Chef and I Love New York are the extent of my reality tv show viewings, if I add anymore to my weekly watching, my husband is likely to divorce me.

You believe Media Takeout? LOL They never have correct information. I would put my money on the Enquirer before I put it on Media Takeout. Second who cares if she and her girlfriend is engaged or that she is gay? That won't make me like her less. I never understood the fascination with that.

Hello Kitty

Queen Latifah was always quite suspect to me. He manorism were always manly. Besides you NEVER seen her taking a picture or dating a man. She has been in the industry for a while now. Something isn't right!!!!

I don't know about that being true. She sure spent a lot of time hanging out with Treach from Naughty By Nature in the 90s, and there are pictures of them together. (Which I don't see as "proof" one way or the other.)
