Comment: I have heard for years that the Kappa Sigma chapter at the
University of the South in Sewanee, TN was suspended by the University for a period on the order of 100 years from a prank in the 1970s. Purportedly, the fraternity members rerouted a military convoy as a prank. The story has been remarkably similar from every source that has recounted it, but I have not been able to find any solid verification. |

Kappa Sigma was a sorority at my college.

Sewanee is a pretty conservative place. It's hard to imagine the students having that kind of disrespect for the military. Then again, respect for the military among conservatives does often run pretty thin beneath the surface...

Are you sure? Every University I know of Kappa Sigma is a Frat, and Sigma Kappa is the Sorority. |

University of the South is one of the most liberal universities in Tennessee, actually. But on its timeline, it has Kappa Sigma's establishment date, but not its suspension, if it did occur. Though, the Kappa Sigma house is now used to house the university's archives.
