Default Rough ferry crossing

A rough ferry crossing - I can't believe it's real, although it clearly is, but can anyone find *any* background on this?

The same video appears here, with a claim that it is from New Zealand.

ETA: Some more information here and some information on the storm it was passing through here.

Seems that the ferry was entering Cook Strait, New Zealand.

So it's a five year old video just surfacing?

There was a bad storm about two months ago, where a ferry crossing had several injuries and one fatality (heart attack) due to massive swells. It might have been that.

What a great clip to watch at a time when we're being encouraged to cut back on air travel!
