Comment: I was inquiring about employment opportunities with snopes. I
would be interested in assisting in researching information. Please let me
know what the requirements are to do this. Thanks.

an interview. I'm a software engineer with 13 years of experience
including mainframe, client-server, and web development. I love
maintaining existing products as well as coming up with new ideas (such as
improvements on the GUI). I am located on the east coast - specifically,
Virginia.

No, he hires monkeys to do it. He always ends up having to do the work himself, but it's always fun to have a bunch of monkeys around.

Are you kidding? Not only do monkeys create quite the mess (since they cannot be housebroken) but they insist on typing the responses to all of the e-mails that Snopes receives. Since Snopes cannot afford the million or so typewriters and monkeys required to produce a reasonable response within a short period of time (i.e., less than a few hundred years), the time required to both clean up after the monkeys and to edit and correct their responses is far longer than it would take him without the extra "help"!

You've obviously never read Snopes & Barbara's many posts about their kitteh fosters -- they obviously have all the "help" they can manage without the monkeys!

I am taking a break from the corporate world. I was burned out on the
