Icon101 'What gun? Oh, this gun? Uh, it came with the pants'

Quote:
Not everyone is born with the talent to make up plausible alibis on a moment's notice. Take the gang member walking down an L.A. street with a handgun visible in his waistband. Before he donned a pair of handcuffs, he told officers John Banuelos and Manny Sierra that "the pants he was wearing were actually not his and he hadn't noticed that it [the gun] was in there," said the Thin Blue Line, an LAPD newspaper. Further proof of the complications that can ensue if you get in someone else's pants.

This song seems appropriate!

ETA: I couldn't find a link to the song by itself - all I could find is this strange school-project-ish-looking video...as though the song isn't weird enough by itself

Police

People always claim that whatever article something illegal is found is belongs to someone else.

I am amazed by how many people will carry an article from a "friend" without knowing the contents and what the friend's name actaully is, or where they are/live.

A guy once tried to convince us that the hat he was wearing that had a baggie of meth in it was a friend's hat, even though it had his own name inside it with marker.

D'oh!

Well, that's why we have that pesky "Possession is 9/10ths of the law" rule, right? It doesn't matter if your name isn't on the bill of sale: as long as something illegal is in your hands, you get in trouble for it.

Apparently stupid criminals, much like horror movie characters, have never come across similar tales of woe to their own and so do not learn from others' mistakes.
