Comment: I've heard this rumor for a few years now. Jessica Alba was raped
by a dolphin on the set of her old show "The New Flipper". Basically the same way a dog humps someone's leg, the dolphin started to hump her from behind while in the water while "the dolphin lip stick" was out. There is a similar rumor about the same thing happening to Jimmy Buffet while he was vacationing in the Caribbean. |

This was King of the Hill episode. Not sure if the rumor predates the episode or if it was inspired by the episode.

It was also the subject of a Rush Limbaugh "animal rights update" from the early 90s. Please do not probe into why I know this.

It is quite common for dolphins to masturbate against objects, at times including divers. I am not sure it would count as rape, though; maybe sexual harrasment.
Now, as to whether this happened to Jessica Alba or not, I have no idea. It is more than likely just some sicko's fantasy, though. Since dolphins are large animals and as such can be dangerous, I imagine the the trainers on the set would be keeping a close eye out for any unusual or agressive behavior.

Sorry, that was supposed to be facetious. I did not really believe that you could consider it to be rape or sexual harassment, any more than you could consider it murder if the dolphin had drowned her.

There's a mystery novel, I think by Sharyn McCrumb, where a female (human) character is raped by a male dolphin, and in the context of the book, it really is meant to be rape, in that the woman resists, and the dolphin forces himself on her. I don't know the exact year of the book, but it by far antedates the King of the Hill episode, because I saw the episode when it came out, and it reminded me of the book, which I'd already read several years earlier at that point.
I don't know whether Sharyn McCrumb (or whomever) based her story on something she'd heard or read of, but she's pretty creative, and I wouldn't be surprised if she (assuming it was McCrumb) made the story out of whole cloth, and later ULs were based on it. Going to search "dolphin rape" on amazon.com. |

I don't even want to think about the books they'll be recommending you now.

Maybe if humans STOPPED training dolphins to rape, they wouldn't.
