The remains of legendary singer JP Richardson, "The Big Bopper," were exhumed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont.

The "Big Bopper's" son, Jay Richardson, said he hired a prominent forensic anthropologist to exhume his father's remains.

I know they're bones and Mr. Bopper doesn't need them anymore, but it still seems a little disrespectful to disturb his remains just to satisfy curiousity about something that really doesn't benefit anyone.

If it puts someone's mind at rest that his father, whom he'd never met, died instantly then it has benefitted someone.

What is the story behind Dr. Bass's involvement with confirming the Lindberg baby's identity? Wouldn't he have been a toddler himself in 1932?

They also planned to move his body to a larger grave site and erect some sort of memorial for him. Might as well kill two birds with one stone (no pun intended).
