Shooting cockroaches

The thread in 'Crash & Burn' discussing a housefire started by boys trying to burn cockroaches bought up an old memory, I remember reading somewhere of a case in (I think) Florida where someone was arrested for discharging a gun in a public place.

His excuse was that he was exterminating cockroaches...with a .357 Magnum

My memory of the source is hazy, but this sounds bogus, can anyone confirm or better yet turn up a newspaper article?
