Comment: QUICK SUMMARY QUESTION: Did comedian Don Rickles once turn down
an invitation to a party thrown by a reputed mobster only to later learn that a rival gang stormed the party and killed the mobster and many of his party goers? MORE DETAILED STORY: Don Rickles was working at a Las Vegas casino and was warned prior to the show by two men that a reputed mob boss would be in the crowd. Furthermore, he was "asked" not to harass or make fun of him. Rickles responded by picking the reputed mob boss out of the crowd and ridiculed him in classic Don Rickles style. Suprisingly, the reputed mobster found the entire act hilarious and later went back stage to invite Rickles to a party he was throwing. Rickles politely refused. Later, when the party went on, members of a rival gang shot and killed many party goers including the mobster. IS THERE ANY TRUTH TO THIS STORY??? |

I caught part of Rickles' appearance on a recent Charlie Rose show. I can't watch the whole video now, but he did tell some stories about his relationship with the 'wiseguys' who were apparently big fans of his. He was there plugging his bio, so there may be more details in the book.

Certainly the idea that Rickles meet members of the Family who later died is likely, playing Vegas in the old days as he did. I can't recall an incident of any mob shootings where a party was invaded by others. This sounds a good deal more modern, as in urban street gangs.
Still, did he ever run into Tupac? That might fit. Ali "take my jokes, please" Infree
