Walt Disney is not going to like this.
A spokesman for Vanessa Hudgens has confirmed that a nude photo circulating on the Internet is indeed that of the 18-year-old star of the Disney Channel's wildly popular "High School Musical." http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/art...nude07-on.html |

yeah she's totally going to lose her Disney contract and probably her Neutrogena contract too for this. And if they lose Hudgens they'll probably lose zac efron too, which is quite unfortunate.

Likewise it doesn't sound like it's particularly dirty, just her naked, getting out of the shower or the like. No most likely this will be a minor buzz, perhaps even calculated to be so (I'm sure she doesn't want to be a highschool musical star for ever) and then fade away. If she's talented and popular, I doubt disney will shoot itself in the foot over some vauge morals clause. They sure didn't do that for Tim Allen, and his scandel was much much more scandelous.

Some of the comments there and on the site they linked to that has the picture are just sad. "I will never look at her the same way again"? "What a 'role model'"? She posed nude for her boyfriend, it's not like she killed a basket of kittens or something.

It's not candid, it's a posed picture of her full frontal naked, and you can tell it is posed. Disney has in its contract that you cannot appear nude in any form of media for two years after your latest Disney release, so I think that yes, it will get her fired.

She's a young, attractive, talented woman with a risque photo being passed around the internet. Something tells me if she loses her Disney contract, she won't have to worry about being out of work in Hollywood.

Well, let's read between the lines, shall we? If she was posing for her boyfriend, Zac, it would imply that this isn't the first time he would have seen her naked would it? I mean, girls just don't take nude shots of themselves for their boyfriends unless she had already been comfortable with him to see her like that. The implication here is that something is going on behind the backlot of Disney Pictures between them two that is more that just spin the bottle.
I don't think there will be a "High School Musical 3". |

Are you quite sure about that? This is the age of internet romance. If it is in fact in Disney contracts that you are not to appear nude in any form of media (I have heard this before) then she should be fired. She or a legal representative signed the contract. Like Cervus said, chances are she won't have any problem finding other work in Hollywood. |

If you look at the story highlights at the top, it says Disney has denied allegations that Hudgens will be dropped from HSM3. |

Does this go for everything? I mean, if Keira Knightly posed nude for something, would she never be able to be in another POTC movie? What about Johnny Depp? I'm pretty sure he's been nude in media before.

I think they probably have different contracts. POTC is in a much different genre and it has a much different viewerdom. I bet there is a different section of Disney for teen stars and another section for adult movies such as POTC

According to IMDB, it was produced by Disney Pictures, but distributed by Buena Vista Films. I remember wayyyy back in the stone age when Disney launched Touchstone Pictures (Splash was its first film if I remember correctly) for the very purpose of distributing Disney productions that were a little more edgy than Cinderella.

Your description makes it sound more salacious than the picture is, IMO. Yes, she's looking at the camera and she's posing, but it's closer to what I'd label a candid shot than, say, a centerfold-type photo. She is just standing next to a dresser or something in what looks like a hotel room (there's an ice bucket in the background IIRC), smiling like she was wearing an over-accessorized outfit from Forever 21 and giving that slightly-titled head pose that every starlet being photographed seems to use. It seems like a spur of the moment thing, not something carefully set up. I think it's sad that an obviously personal picture like that became public, but I think it's even sadder because from the photo she appears to be pretty comfortable in her own skin, but not "pornalized." I hope this doesn't mess with her confidence too much.

Off topic, but sort of related, we had a local weatherman that was fired for a personal pic that an ex friend had maliciously put on the net. he was my favorite, so I don't watch that station anymore....way to go channel 10.
I don't understand why a person would be held responsible for something he/she had no control over. I guess that you could argue that having pics like that taken is teh ebil and work of the devil and I'm sure some folks think that way In his case it was pretty obvious that he had been caught coming out of the shower. He said in an interview, right after it happened that the picture had been taken by someone he trusted and he never expected it to find it on the internet. I don't know what happened to him. I kept hoping another station would pick him up but he hasn't shown up yet. ![]() I sure hope they don't fire this girl over something like that. I doubt that she posted the pic herself, so someone wanting to cause her some trouble must have. |
