Comment: I had heard a rumor a long time ago that goes like this: There
were some folks that bought a house and were exploring the property and found the entrance to a long forgotten cold war era fallout shelter. Curious, they forced entry through a rusty jammed door and found the remains of a family that had been trapped inside and died long ago. |

And nobody had missed them during all that time.

A silimar thing happened to a friend of mine at Hurst Castle. As an Inspector with the
MOD he was given full access to the site before it was open to the public and went into an area which had not been used for many years, possibly from the Napoleonic phase (but more likely from the 1870s) and found the body of a 19th century fisherman. I don't think they ever found out why the room was unlocked at a time when the fort was unmanned, or why the room was locked without someone looking inside (as I understand it the door was not inaccessible, merely in a disused area) |
