Icon81 Living with dead people

A German left his dead mother seated in her favorite armchair at their shared home for two years because he could not face organizing a funeral.

The fact that he just sort of left her there is disturbing as it is... But I just have to wonder how he dealt with that smell?

While not in the same league as a full-bodied dried apparition, we called my SIL's ex-husband last week (9 years divorced) to see if he could locate the ashes of MIL and a brother that were left in his attic.

He didn't know they were there.

LOL.

Not exclusively. From an article about the "Spook house shooting" in a Columbus suburb last year:

The Davis family's history with police includes an account from the 1980s of them living with the body of Allen Davis' grandmother for two days for fear the woman might wake up and be scared.

I don't have a cite, but I've definitely heard of cases in the US that go on for some time.
