Icon24 Goldschlager's gold flakes

Comment: The rumor that I dont believe, however people are trying to
convince me of is that Goldschlager's gold flakes in the alcohol cuts
small cuts in your throat to make the alcohol go into your blood stream
faster. I say FALSE!

well, no wonder I end up going into anaphylactic shock and not being able to breathe if I drink it. And here I always thought it was because i'm allergic to artificial cinnamon.

I have heard that legend too. Wikipedia says it's false, but doesn't give any reason why.

Icon101 Highly unlikely

The lining of the oesophagus is a pretty tough barrier as it has developed to cope with wear and tear from potentiallly sharp bits of food.

By comparison, the incredibly thin pieces of gold leaf found in Golshlager are incredibly fragile and so unlikley to cause the slightest damage.

Think of trying to damage a bicycle inner tube with a sheet of paper.
