Icon402 Company Rumors Debunked

Quote:
A few years ago, Trevor Bovee of Winter Haven visited SeaWorld and left with a pair of bright-red suspenders bearing the logo of Budweiser, a beer produced by the park's corporate owner, Anheuser-Busch Companies.

Bovee, an antique gun collector, was wearing the suspenders when he later came across a fellow firearms enthusiast.

"The guy said, 'Don't be wearing them at the gun show, because Budweiser's death on guns,'" recalled Bovee, 70. The friend explained Anheuser-Busch had contributed millions of dollars toward gun-control legislation.

From that point, Bovee avoided buying Anheuser-Busch products, not wanting to give money to a company he considered at odds with his support of unrestricted gun rights.

As it happens, though, Bovee's friend was apparently mistaken. No evidence could be found to confirm his claim, and in fact Anheuser-Busch supported a Missouri ballot measure in 1999 that would have expanded concealed weapons permits.
