snopes t-shirts

We're thinking about printing up another batch of snopes.com t-shirts, and we're hoping that, if there's enough interest, we can order up a large enough quantity to get the unit price down to something much more affordable.

So, we're taking a straw poll to determine the level of interest in snopes.com t-shirts. We're just surveying general opinion; responding to the poll will not commit you in any way to buying anything.

Please do not post to this thread simply to express your interest in purchasing snopes.com t-shirts. (That's what the poll is for.)

Are you including domestic shipping in there? That would alter my vote a bit.

I can't realistically factor in the postage costs, because they're dependent upon the location of the buyer and the number of shirts purchased.

In all honesty, my deciding to purchase a snopes t-shirt would be based entirely on what the shirt looked like. If I really liked it, I'd pay $16 for it, no problem. Unfortunately I'm kinda picky when it comes to t-shirts. I like fitted t-shirts, rather than the loose variety that one typically gets, I'm also picky about the graphics, colors and placement, probably because I'm a designer. If we had a really groovy looking snopes fitted t-shirt offered in cool colors, I'd definitely buy and wear proudly, but I know that's really probably not price effective. :o

I only wear regular style loose t-shirts to bed, and those are all hand-me-downs and free swag. I wouldn't want to buy a snopes t-shirt if I was only going to wear it to bed unfortunately.

Just wondering snopes, I dunno how price effective it is, but did you ever consider getting a Cafepress shop where you can offer multiple items for sale like mugs, t-shirts, hoodies and mousepads? Oddtodd does it for his website and you basically pick a design that you like, then you choose whatever item you'd like the design on. Like I said, I've never opened up a cafepress shop myself so I don't know whether it's a pricey option or not, but I'm just curious if you've looked into it because I think the idea of having multiple snopes branded things to buy would be cool.

Would this be a new design, or the same design?

Yes, but we're not interested in merchandising as a for-profit business venture. Our using CafePress would result in much higher unit costs for buyers, and we're just interested in getting t-shirts into the hands of people who want them as cheaply as possible.
