A rumour that's been circulating in Brampton for the past 18 months has created a stir and the mayor is frustrated by the urban myth.
Mayor Susan Fennell has been trying to get to the bottom of the rumour, which suggested gang members from Toronto are being paid to move to Brampton. http://680news.com/news/local/articl...09_132636_4980 |

The best way for them to dissuade it would probably be to just dump it on another community. "No, no, no. Gang members are being paid to move to Mississauga..."

I wondered for years why anyone would want to live in Brampton and now I know. They've been paid to move there! Explains a lot.

After 18 months of suburban living, I moved out. I love my family, but given the location, the rent was simply too high.

I sawthis thread but as a citizen of Brampton I had never heard it. After i mentioned at my local pub and discovering everybody had heard it AND believed it my BRAIN exploded. Is there anybody on this board else that lives in Brampton that Can tell me if there is a pub where the average iq is above 80 In this town.

I asked a friend who lives in Brampton about this - he'd never heard of it.
Of course, he found the idea ridiculous, so... |
