Default Tiger Rapes Acrobat (redux)

A few years back on the old board (whose link I don't have to hand from this PC, but if anyone could oblige?) there was a thread about a circus tiger "raping" an acrobat who fell from a trapeze and into its cage. It was a fabricated news report from a tabloid newspaper.

While researching felid hybrids, a fellow researcher in Canada sent me this info from International Zoo Yearbook (9:144, 1969 I think) referencing "Jehangir" (column 1, page 157) which has a report of a tiger attempting to mate with a human. This occurred at Agra in the year 1609.

The Moghul Emperor Jehangir wrote

Quote:
They brought a tiger from my private menagerie to fight with a bull. Many people gathered together to see the show, and a band of Jogis [religious mendicants] with them. One of the Jogis was naked and the tiger by way of sport, and not with the idea of rage, turned towards him. It threw him on the ground and began to behave to him as it would do to its own female. The next day, and on several other occasions, the same thing took place. As no such thing had ever been seen before, and was exceedingly strange, this has been recorded.
The Jogi being naked would have been quite normal. Personally, I find it surprising that the sexual activity between the tiger and the Yogi was repeated and I'm not even going to speculate about how far the tiger got and what the yogi thought about it all! The tiger/human story has its roots in some activities almost 400 years ago, though I doubt the "reporter" realised that!

There's only one thing to do in a situation like that: fake an orgasm. You don't want to imply that the tiger is a bad lover...

I do't think many of us are old enough to remember that.

Ah, sorry for the confusion. I thought you were referring to the 1960's ad slogan for Esso Petrol "Put a Tiger in your Tank" from which I presume that part of the Blue Jeans lyric was pinched from.

I know of the Esso ad but the Blue jeans lyric was just so darn catchy and it was in the charts one summer holiday (hence it sprang to mind).

For us younger types, can someone make a joke about "tiger tokens" please?
