Icon22 Tuck in your shirt!

Comment: I've gotten this from several people and I really don't think it is anything but a posed video. It seems to be nothing except a way to scare parents and try to make them force school administrations to be more strict in their clothing rules and enforcement.

With the shirt tucked in, that shot gun would have been noticeable.

I thought I remembered this as an advert for a metal detector used in schools.

I'd like to see him walk around with all that firepower in his pants...

I think that's exactly what it was intended for. Our school board used this video for that purpose a couple of years ago. (I think I posted about it on the old board. )

A local high school girl went to a later school board meeting to counter the claims in this video. She dressed in the approved "uniform", and tucked in a passel of weaponry to show how easy it is to hide guns or drugs in any kind of clothing.

I really wish I had a video of this to use in an argument I am currently having about this exact topic.

I'm looking! I'm looking!

I had originally thought that the video in the OP was locally produced. I could have been wrong about that.

...aaaand I can't find it.

Again prof that the only safe dress code is no clothing.

After pulling all that hardware out from the waist band of his pants. How did they stay up?

I hate this stupid video with a passion thanks to a bunch of sheeple school administrators who thought "not tucking in your shirt = terrorist."

Like the kid would have been able to get through more than a couple of hallways before someone would have noticed he was walking funny.

moonlight, it is used in 'Bowling for Columbine' (as Marc said) if you need it for something...

personally I think it's rubbish. the people who want to do something stupid can do it regardless of what they are wearing... and as we unfortunately know they don't always hide them when they are going to do something... they just walk in and start shooting.

It's a marketing video from Garrett Metal Detectors which was used in Bowling for Columbine.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=X6LQS8...elated&search=

http://www.bowlingforcolumbine.com/about/credits.php

That's about:

Two one-shot mini-derringers (.22 mag NAMA?)
One subcompact (.380 Kel Tec?)
One .22 revolver
One full frame revolver (.45?)
One subcompact pistol (.32?)
One two-shot derringer
One subcompact pistol (.32?)
One UZI SMG with 40 rd mag
One Remington 870 shotgun (!)

ETA: I like this one more because he pulls out a ninja star.

A ninja star.

I agree with you...I was wondering if there was a video of the girl proving that you can still hide weapons regardless of what you are wearing, not the video in the OP.

how do you even walk with a shotgun shoved down your pants?!

And notice, he took two (?) guns out of his pockets, clearly visible beneath his shirt. So lesson learned, when they make you tuck in your shirt, store your weapons in your pocket.

At the very end when he was digging around for the twin guns I had a very vivid image of where exactly where they were stored. I so didn't need that.

Yeah that was on 'Bowling for Columbine'. It's a pretty ridiculous video if you ask me, made by people with little exposure to anything bordering reality. It's actually kind of disturbing the fact that this is a real video.

Is it just me or the most shocking part of the video is that a kid could have access to all these weapons, not that he could tuck em down his pants.

I mean should they not be concerned about weapon laws and gun registration not working at all?

This is is the part where the Charleton Heston fanboys start chanting "Why do you hate America?" Who needs gun control when you can have shirttail control?

(tongue firmly in cheek, in case you were wondering)

That makes little sense as a demonstration that he was able to hide the weapons because it isn't clear that they were hidden. He looks normal from 1 angle - but to actual smuggle them in he would have had to look normal from 360 degrees, and be able to walk.

The shotgun would be visible lower down his leg, and the large gun he pulls from the back would certainly have been visible in outline through the back of his shirt. I think it is ridiculous that the 2 largest items are "hidden" by in fact being stored where they just aren't visible in the picture.

OK - I know advertising doesn't have to make sense, but that doesn't mean I can't mock and criticise when it doesn't
