Actualy it's been studied so much with the same resualts, that there is no connection between porn and sexual violence towards women. Places like Japan and Demark which have a high level of porn also have the lowest levels of sex crimes. Only in the United States has there ever been a connection often made by cheery picking edvidence to show a connection. An example is finding porn in the homes of sex offenders. Most of the right wings beliefs came from Ted Bundy saying that he acted out his crimes after viewing porn. Yet the only book ever to be found in Ted Bundy's possesion that was considered porn was "The Joy of Sex".

Leading experts all agree that porn, sex and violence are not related. Most sexual attacks on women are revenge for what some woman in the perps life has done to the offender. Sever punishments for masterbation or bed wetting are more common in a offender acting out then porn. Studies have shown that the majority of abusers where abused as children.

This is probably the study you are refering to.

That being said, I think the findings of the research are still and were highly controversial, and research into the psychologoical benefits and costs of pornography continue to this day. Here's a link that looks to compile a great deal of studies on the subject and debunk where necessary.

The issue is still controversial and is still researched, however, as with any research there is only a finite ammount of money to go around, and issues like this (where clear answers to questions are rarely found) are less likely to get funding, except when funded by politicaly motivated persons seeking a prefered outcome to the study.
