I've seen at least one porn star with a penis tattoo. I think it was Rob Rotten? I'm sure it hurt but then he had a penis piercing as well, so obviously he enjoyed that kind of thing.

I thought of that only after I posted.

I'm wondering how the tatoo artist would have been able to do all the detail work. Seems to me that the dragon would have needed to be "in full flight" during the tattoo sessions in order to get all the scales and coloring filled in all the way.

Man, I thought this was going to be the "Eat at Joe's" thing.
You know, it reads "Eat at Joe's", but rub it and it reads "Eat at Joe's All You Can Eat Buffet Kids Under 12 Eat Free" in 2" letters. Man. |

There's an old story attributed to George Burchett, a famous british tattoo artist from the early 1900's. The story goes that he refused to do ink on genitalia, but he had a very persistant customer who kept pestering him and offering more money until he finally said he'd do it.
He had the customer undress and take a seat while he went into the back of the studio and rummaged around. Finally he came back with a piece of wooden plank, a hammer and a handfull of large nails. The surprised client asked him what the stuff was for, and he replied "well, you don't think I'm going to hold it in my hand do you?" oh yeah, and I'm pretty the tattoo in the op is real. I've seen pictures of it in several trade magazines, I'll try and find a cite. Last edited by charlie23; 22 July 2007 at 12:14 PM. |

If it is real, it's really lovely work, and I'm impressed.
If part of the point of that is to greatly increase his chances of getting laid, it's probably working. |

No idea about how real the picture may be, but as for the "Crayola marker" look apparently that can happen sometimes with people with *really* pale skin. My family, our skin tone is what's usually called "ivory" I guess (like if you're buying foundation, that's the color you need to get). I don't have any tattoos, being that I'm a complete wuss about pain, but my kid sister has a really gorgeous butterfly on her ankle that has that same pastel kind of "soft" look to it.
Basically, it looks like it was painted on with tempura paint or something, but it's a tattoo. I'll ask her if she minds if I take a picture and put it up for comparison (since it's just her ankle and wouldn't have any identifying characteristics unless you already knew her and knew what her butterfly looks like, I don't anticipate a problem). Maybe it's got something to do with the kind of ink used... her dolphin on her shoulder is pretty new and has that same kind of opaque look to it (the parts that are done anyways) and I think the butterfly is less than 5 years old. |

When I first saw this thread, I thought it was going to be a photo that I saw many years ago, but after 30 minutes of searching I can't find it on the web. It was a photo of a "tattoo" (probably body paint due to the brightness of the color) on a man's crotch, of a dragon's open mouth with the penis forming the dragon's tongue. It was different than the photo presented here, but it was the same motif and covered the same area.

According to the guy in Stoneage Dinosaur's link he felt negligible pain, due to the anaesthetic 'ametrope'.
According to Google (tm) there is no such anaesthetic as ametrope, and the links they provide further suggest that ametrope means someone with a vision defect caused by abnormal curvature of the lens of the eye; but what would they know? |

I remember seeing that a while ago. It's an absolutely amazing beautiful piece of work. I'm completely jealous of the color.

Hmm. My ears arent' pierced, but my nipples were. Wasn't that painful. Usually piercing go numb almost immediately after. My labret pierces went numbed within seconds.
. My tattoos weren't painful, even my wrists ones. Sorta like a strange sensations. |

I can't imagine that sensitive of an area not hurting, though. True, the tat pain was only the initial shock of it for me, but my shoulder skin is not nearly the same as that skin.

I don't know a whole lot about tattoos, but it seems to me like that's a risky place to get a tattoo - the penis is mostly just soft tissue, after all. And isn't there a chance that having it tattooed would decrease sensation in the organ?
