No Montgomery Police Debunk Child Rape Rumor

Quote:
Montgomery police say there is NO truth to claims that a small child was raped at a local shopping center. Hundreds of e-mails have circulated claiming the assault happened in the restroom of the Sears store at Eastdale Mall.

Has anyone seen the e-mail referred to in this story? We don't seem to have received any copies that I can find.

I haven't seen the e-mail, but it reminds me of a couple of scare stories my mother told me as a child.

Hmm I have my tv tuned into Channel 8, which is an all day news channel for the area, and I don't recall them saying anything about the email, or the police debunking it.

Though its on its usually just background noise and I admit I don't listen to every story. they run the same segments for a few hours then air a new one for a few hours.

Well, I'm from Montgomery and *I* haven't received any such e-mail. It's possible the e-mail in question was one that circulated locally without making it "national". (Then again, maybe no one really cares about me. *sniffs*)

Silly me, I thought he was talking about Montgomery County Maryland, not Montgomery, Alabama.

BTW I used to live in Montgomery for some time while growing up. I sometimes miss it, but what I miss the most from there is the two friends I made.

So now they're saying the child made it up because she urinated on herself. I guess the police would know, having spoken to the child. But that just rings an alarm bell for me. Unless the child reported some vague assault that the adults made into a rape. Just doesn't sound quite right to me.
