Parisian Manager Claims Jim Morrison Died in His Nightclub

A new book is telling a different story about how Jim Morrison, the frontman for The Doors, died in Paris in 1971.

In the new book, former nightclub manager Sam Bernett says Morrison died in a toilet stall of his club after what he believes was a heroin overdose.

In French. Translation: "death was caused by cardiac arrest (natural death)"

At the time, a cardiologist friend of mine told me that it wasn't unusual for a hot bath to cause cardiac arrest. The rapid increase in temperature can stress the heart, and if you have a heart problem, it can be a trigger.

No doubt drugs were involved in weakening the heart, but it seems a simple heart attack.

IIRC (it's been 15 years) according to No One Here Gets Out Alive, Jim Morrison fell from a rooftop messing around not too long before he died- something like four days prior. If true, that could have- for lack of a better word- helped.

Well, according to the French death certificate:

". . . le corps ne present . . .aucune trace suspecte de traumatisme or de lesion quelconque."

Roughly translated: "The body showed no trace of trauma or unknown wounds."

If he fell, it didn't appear to leave a mark.

I heard a rumor once (might've been here) that while Jim did have a heart attack in the bathtub, it was actually triggered by masturbating. (Presumably AFTER taking the drugs.)

Is that one true?

A lot of the articles, including Time's article, have pictures of his grave in Paris that are old. The bust of him was removed and the grafitti has been cleaned up. Now it is a simple gravestone. It hasn't looked like this in many years:

How would one go about determining/verifying that? Unless he was found dead with his old fellah still in his hand.

You may be talking about his fall onto the roof of a car (from the second floor). That was almost two months before he died, so I think it's probably unrelated.
