Spit Take A Web Cadre Turns the Tables on African Scam Artists

Ever been tempted to respond to that e-mail message offering untold millions from the relatives of a deposed African dictator?

For some, replying to such Internet scams is a rewarding hobby. They call themselves scam-baiters, and they have started taking justice into their own hands.

For the record, people on the 419eater forums alleged to be quoted in the article have said they didn't actually talk to this reporter.

TV

It is summer and time to recycle genuine, hand-crafted antique stories. Just like ULs keep coming around, so do some stories.
I trust the NYT did their due diligience on fact-checking, not like with the Iraq war publicity build-up.

Spit Take

Some of the stories (from the 419 site?) are hilarious. At one point, they have a guy running around a London airport looking for them while they keep calling him from their home in the US ("I'm sitting at the Starbucks with a latte, where are you?").

Now that I like.

However the website itself is old news (does that mean this thread will be removed as it's been discussed before ). Good to remind us of it and some newbies won't have seen it.
