What I didn't see in last week's obituaries of clothing designer Liz Claiborne was much about the odd and creepy Internet-based crusade against her in the late 1990s, as a purported racist and Satanist.

And the reliable sources for these charges? The Internet.

Speaking of checking things out on the internet... snopes.com was formerly urbanlegends.com.
The latter no longer functions as a myth debunker.

I may be wrong, but I don't think "snopes.com was formerly urbanlegends.com." I know long ago I used to check both sites when I'd get ULish emails, so they existed simultaneously for a while.
