Ponder Cal Ripken's streak preserved by fake lighting problems

A discussion of this year's Baseball Hall of Fame balloting resulted in this urban legend being brought up on the Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw Show on KGB radio in San Diego. Kevin Costner's name was not mentioned, but the question of whether invented lighting problems were used as an excuse to postpone a game that Ripken would have missed due to his being distraught at catching his wife with another man was discussed. (For the record, Chainsaw said he thought it was false, while Dave maintained it was true, though he admitted this was mainly because he thought it was a better story that way.)
