Link goes to picture of Ohio State band supposedly spelling out "Oh Sh*t"
Supposedly this happened at the Ohio State - Gators game. |

Looks to me like the picture is shopped. In the lower right hand corner, near the T, it looks like there is some bad cloning going on there. Bad like maybe I did it. I suck at photoshop. Also above the O, it's obviously been manipulated. The yard lines don't match up at all. Funny, but crappily faked.

VERY funny, but, unfortunately a fake.
The letters are almost correct, but a photo-shop of "Ohio". You can clearly see a problem with the 30 yard line in what SHOULD be the down-stroke of the "h" and is now the "S". But, very clever. ETA: Ooooh, spanked by the 'Roo! Good job, speedy-fingers!

That is definately fake.
You can see how the yard lines are not straight on the "s". Also, I watched the bands (I was in marching band, so I love watching them) and it's easy to see where they cut out different bits from the show. ETA: Spanked the first time! Twice! Gimme some more!

My first spanking! By mere seconds, too. Yay!
(Hope it didn't hurt too bad, Malruhn.) |

Apparently the person in the top curve of the "s" is just a torso floating above the ground.

and the most obvious, there are two 30 yard lines on the left side of the field.

Sorry I forgot an article. I had to edit the post a few times to get it to show up right and accidentally excised "the."
It looked fake to me (not to mention I think I would have heard something about a band spelling a profanity ), but I figured it might be a fun contribution.

I used to be part of The Famous Maroon BandŽ. I know exactly what you mean. You can hear the capital letters.

Didn't the Stanford Band spell out the word "ITSH" during a game? I mean, ITSH isn't a word but I think we can all figure out what they were trying to do...

Very obviously a fake, and I'm not all that good with photoshop either.
OT, but speaking of spelling out swear words, my university once did a prank where they asked college students to either turn off or turn on their light when the rugby game started. Of course, the F word was shining for all to see at the rugby... |

I think it's that OSU has pushed that to as a marketing point too. Former players from there emphasize it as well. For some reason they think it's cool to be "THE Ohio State University." I think it's silly, but I've heard sports talk hosts say they kind of like it.

the more i look at the pic, the more fake it looks, At first I thought the O would have been original, but no, definately not.
and I thought there was something familiar about the lower right of the O and the Lower part of the S. complete copy. surprisingly the "hi" looks real, as with the O in centre field being perfect to my eyes although the dot on the i seems a bit tall... freakishly tall... and the t is a bit off as well. i'm guessing it originally said Ohio. Still my favorite screwup in the picture is the hashmarks in the endzone... (yes I play football, so I look at the field and noticed missing hashmarks, |

However, they have a ways to go to beat my alma mater, Ohio University, which tried to copyright the word "Ohio," to keep Ohio State from producing licensed clothing that said "Ohio." Traditionally, OU's stuff says "Ohio," while OSU's says "Ohio State." So I could see their frustration, but it still made them look silly. |

The way it really looks
You can see where they cut pieces out and moved them by comparing the two pictures. |

That's odd. Around here all OSU's stuff says "Oklahoma State".

Which would be perfectly fine with Ohio University.
