Comment: Recently I watched a Marlon Brando biography on TV. There was
film footage of the Academy Award ceremony when Brando won an award, but sent a Native American woman to the awards to read a statement about the poor state of Indian affairs in America. Later she was interviewed years after the fact and she made the claim that three large men had to restrain John Wayne back stage to keep him from coming after her that night. True or false? |

I was just looking this up and John Wayne was a presenter that year.
I found this on IMBD.com: Godfather, The (1972) - Marlon Brando - Refused to accept the award for the reason that the U.S. and especially Hollywood are discriminating Native American people. Brando did not show up at the ceremony, but instead sent a faked Indian woman named Sacheen Littlefeather who later turned out to be Maria Cruz, a less known Californian actress. http://www.sacheenlittlefeather.net/pages/1/index.htm <--- She has a website if anyone wants to ask her....
