Is it just me or does Simon Schama always seem to figure very large in the history he tells?
Before the replies start to waft in, I do understand how important context is. For a historian, the stories they tell always say something about the historian and their time as well. So, if there are primary sources that support a particular view then we can judge the work based on facts and analysis of the historian. Ali "too much monkey business" Infree |
