Ovarian cancer has early warning signs

Doctors have long assumed that ovarian cancer grows in secret, often producing no symptoms until it's too late.

Hoping to dispel that myth, three leading medical societies have released a paper to educate women and their doctors about its early warning signs.

My mom was a nurse & went to the doctor right when she had the symptoms mentioned, but it was already too late. She tended to be a trooper about pain, though, but she said she knew this type of discomfort wasn't just indigestation.

Bloating and frequent urination are normal for me. My eating can be a case of "little, more frequently" as I just can't handle large meals. In fact the only one of those I don't get is the pelvic/abdominal pain!

Irritable bowel syndrome causes bloating and abdominal pain.* Urgent and frequent urination are often experienced by women in their 40s and older (even those who haven't had children).

*ETA: And, IIRC, IBS is far more commen among women than men.
