I've been reading posts from a member of a forum who claims that manmade objects have been found in rock or coal-beds where the rock/coal was millions of years old - thus "proving" his theory that humans have been around for millions of years longer than previously thought and that therefore Darwin's ideas re evolution are bogus, and Von-Daeniken and Velikovsky (and similiar UFOlogists/Creationists) are right.

There's a wikipedia page on "OOParts" which seems to be more credible than most - the rest are usually allied with UFO-websites and the like.

I'm happy to concede that it is theoretically possible for a manmade object to end up deep within a 200-million-year-old coal-bed, but I was wondering if there was a more natural explanation, via geological processes etc. - though, of course, there always exists the possibility of human fraud etc.
