My grandfather was born circa 1890, my mom was born in 1919, and I was born in 1961.

My father was born in 1915, but I have no idea when my paternal grandfather was born. All I know about him is his name, that he had red hair, and that he abandoned my grandmother and their nine surviving children sometime in the 1920s, leaving them destitute. They were lucky not to starve.
