It would jump and flap once or twice and then land on the other branch, where it would grasp and sway unsteadily, and the parent on that branch would use a wing to steady it. Awwwww!

Of course, if you want air coming through the window at night, that won't work very well either.
Sure, blackout curtains are out there. But when it's 3 AM--well, you've got foil and tape...

Plus I was a college student. I'm not entirely sure I would do such a thing now.

We have 2 or 3 families - I am not sure of which species- here on property. I am waiting for a guest to complain about the hooting sound.

But a baby awkwardly landing on walking on and then taking off from a roof is just too adorable.

My prodigal kitty has gained a little weight. I could feel every rib at first but now she's almost normal.

Our little ganzling made her first phone call today, somehow managing to hit redial on mom's smartphone and shouting "Papa! Papa!" among other things that no one understands before mom discovered her.

Cheer

Today, when I had just reached my office on the top floor (well, we only have a ground level and three floors above, but "top floor office" sounds more pompous ), my phone rang and I was asked if I could hurry down to the ground floor, since they needed someone to translate.
It made me happy to put my English skills to practical use. I realized that my tongue is a bit rusty when it comes to actually speaking English, although I am fluently in reading, listening and understanding it (my writing skills are bit off most of the time, though). But I have as good as no speaking practice.
I was able to help the people that needed information and they were happy for the help I was able to provide. And I was happy because I think I made their day this morning

Good thing, too, Gavida, that out of idontknowhowmany gouvernment workers in your agency, they thought of you when there was need for translation. Your language skills are known and recognised in the office.

I went to Jungle Jim's today. It's been awhile since I was overwhelmed by a grocery store.

Along with some McVities dark chocolate digestives and ground kangaroo, I also picked up some halloumi cheese. Halloumi is awesome; it tastes a lot like feta, but the texture is closer to mozzarella.
