Reading U.K. Scrabble Group Bans Star Player For Breaking Tile Rule

S'mai bawb:

The Association of British Scrabble players banned one of its star players for three years after an independent investigation concluded that he had broken rules in the popular word game...A committee member for the association, Elie Dangoor, said Monday that three independent witnesses saw Simmons put a hand with freshly drawn letter tiles back into a bag to draw more tiles -- contrary to the rules.

Cheers! Cheers! for our Scrabble Squad!
They fill the board with words that are odd
Adz and xebec, zax and qua,
Zarf and quinoa, pyx and ka!

Jato and furzy, os, ut and ugh,
Zygote and baba,
Yoho and vug!

They know every word except
The one that spells vic-to-ry!
"Fight Songs for Schools That Can't Afford Major Sports" from MAD #69 (March 1962).
