Lol. I get that about the Star Wars movies. I saw the original three and loved them. I have no desire to see the prequels or the sequels. Zero. None. Nada. So please stop telling me how much I am missing. I don't want to mess with "my" Star Wars. I'm content. Leave it alone!

Same here. Plus seeing how the police et al put the clues together to solve the crime.

But, I'll also admit, that I don't share this fascination with anyone. Even my wife, with whom I tried to share, thinks it odd.
The number of books and shows on the subject seems to me to indicate that there are quite a lot of people interested in it.

While I prefer most of my mysteries fictional, I think there's a lot of the same underlying impulses driving the interest.

I haven't seen it all the way through, but I've seen the first half three times. I keep falling asleep. I'm not even necessarily saying it's boring, I might just keep picking the wrong times to try to watch it.

They played on TV a little while ago and I have it on my hard-drive. I just need to watch it.

A few weeks ago, a bottle of Sudafed came open in a small pocket of my backpack, and all the pills fell out. I just left it like that, and now when I want some Sudafed I just grab a couple of pills from the pile at the bottom of the pocket.

Baseball

Minor confession: On one of the questions on this week's Ken Jennings Trivia the name Bob Meusel was used. I don't know who Bob Meusel is. I mistook the name for Stan Musial, and assumed it was a baseball question. It was only coincidence that both Meusel and Musial play baseball.

It was only after I looked things up afterwards, did I realise that I may have gotten the answer into the right ballpark (although I don't know if it is right or not. I just chose other famous historic baseball players I knew).

I love true crime. I've been reading it for more than 30 years now, and I find it interesting to see how the same story can be presented differently by different people. I highly recommend The Invention of Murder to anyone interested in either the history of journalism or that of true crime.

I also collect trivia, and have since high school.

Here's a gift for your collection, Seaboe -- igil is the Old English word for hedgehog. Enjoy!

(Today was the Dictionary of Old English mailing day. We get a new word every week. )

I'm very sorry that Gord Downie from the Tragically Hip has died. From everything I've heard he was an awesome guy. But, unlike seemingly Everyone Else in Canada, I don't like the Tragically Hip. There are one or two songs I do quite like but that's it, as a group they've passed me by - or maybe I've passed them by. I'm so unCanadian
