Was just checking the weather on my local station and this is in the forecast (bold mine):

Quote:
Friday: Snow early, mixing with sleet and/or freezing rain and possibly rain in the afternoon. Possible accumulation: 4 to 8" south and east of Manchester, 6 to 10" in towns just north and west of the Queen city..... tapering off late in the day. Any sleet, freezing rain, and especially rain may compact the snow a bit and make it heavier and shushier. Highs in the lower half of the 30's.

D'oh!

Someone just sent this one to me. Not sure if it's real or photoshopped but funny none-the-less.

My sister lives in Northamton - I'll have to ask her to look out for that one!

I have a picture on my cell phone (I don't have the cord to transfer it to my computer) of a rack of cooking thermometers in my local Meijer's and the sign above one says "beer thermometer". I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "beef thermometer".

I also have a picture of a parking sign in front of my vet's that says, "Veterinary Hospital Parking Only - All others will be neutered". Obviously, that one's intentional so it's a bit off-topic, but I like it nonetheless.

I've actually seen that building before on a trip to Cooperstown.

Unfortunately have no photos (before cameras were invented and no artist available) but for several years a local road had a painted sign reading SLOM

I've seen Fu Kin fried rice on a few Chinese restaurant menus.

How far back are you talking about? Cameras were invented in the mid ninteenth century, prrobably some time before it became customary to paint instructions on the roads.
