Last night I went to PetSmart to buy some cat food. As I was getting out of my car I noticed stenciled in the parking spot next to mine (which was empty):

"Too hot
to be
forgot.
Check the
backseat.
They won't
survive."

Or something close to that. Obviously it's a reminder to not leave pets and kids in the car. But who put it there? Does PetSmart put these reminders in all their parking lots, of is there some person or organisation that goes around leaving these reminders? Is painting it on the pavement really the best place for these reminders? I mean, if that parking space had been occupied I wouldn't have seen it.

This morning I was behind a car that had a small whisk hanging from a ring below the rear bumper. That is a whisk, as in the kitchen implement, hanging below the bumper like it was a decoration.

Somebody didn't think it through - it needs another sign in front of the parking space saying "Back up and read the road markings now!"

Odd thing I heard today: I was walking down a hallway at work when I heard the faint sound of music. I walked back the way I came to try and determine where it was coming from, and zeroed in on a roomed labeled "maintenance shop" which I've walked past many times but never paid much attention to. I held my ear up to the door, and I swear it sounded like someone was playing accordion music in there.

Accordionists get banished to all kinds of strange places.

Yow!

At a supermarket today I saw one of those "complete meal in a drink" products. Nothing odd about that, except the brand name disturbed me.

It came in several flavors, but none of them were green in color.

"Honey, does your breakfast taste like Edward G. Robinson too?"

This reminds me of something I saw the other day. I was walking up to the shops when I saw a Winnebago parked. Winnebago aren't the common in Australia so I stopped to take a look. There was a grey, shaggy dog sitting in the front passenger seat with a pillow on the dashboard in front of him. I was a little concerned about him being there by himself but he didn't seem too worried, but in fact he looked pretty pleased with him self.

I just went to take a bag of rubbish out and there's a big blue stuffed llama sticking out of the top of one of the shared wheely bins. It's filling almost the whole of the top of the bin.

I was making an omelette for brunch this morning, cracked one of the eggs, and it didn't have a yolk. It was just all whites.

Bonsai Kitten

For the first time ever, I saw one of the cats putting a toy in a shoe. It's been a long-standing tradition at our house, started years ago by Ash. Sometimes, a toy would wind up in one of my husband's shoes overnight. This morning, I watched as Marmalade was romping around with one of his rattly balls near the shoes, batting it around, chasing after it... then picking it up and carrying it right back to the shoes. A few minutes later *PLOP* into the shoe it went. That's the first time I've ever actually witnessed the event.

Ash has taught Marmie well...

Learning to put toys in shoes: Pass.

Learning to do so only when the humans aren't looking: Fail.

(Or, alternatively: Deciding to do something differently than the way the other cat does it: Pass.)

Oh crap GenYus, that is just wrong in so many ways. I mean, I am glad that they re-used the body to make something useful, but it can't be a good idea to feed dog meat to other dogs, especially mean from ill dogs.

Sounds delicious to me. Probably lots of extra pep—just don’t serve with water.

Glasses

Is the picture on the bag actually from the original movie? The same picture used to top Kevin Corcoran's obituary?

I'm sure dogs just foam at the mouth for it.

A couple of days ago I saw a man on a bicycle dressed as Buddy, the elf from Elf. He wasn't advertising anything.
