Why would building two separate houses fix the issue of the stalker?

If ever there was a place the Mystery Machine gang is sorely needed.

And I've found the first clue, on the photo caption in the article:

Good question. (And I wonder whether the area has individual septic systems, in which case the lot size may be necessary to allow sufficient space for leach fields to work properly.)

Do they maybe think the stalker wouldn't know which house to send letters to, and so wouldn't send to either? Maybe they would just send to both, who knows?

Or do they think that they'd be able to sell the two individual lots with different houses because neither of them would be easily identifiable to the buyer as a house with a problem -- in other words, they want to do to potential buyers the same thing for which they sued the person who sold the house to them?

I'm sorry for them. But the solution to this is to find the stalker, not to knock the house down.

With a network of tunnels, and decoy cars, they would be able to slip in and out of one house or the other, therefore deceiving The Watcher.

Of course, that presupposes The Watcher is actually watching and not just sending randomly composed creepy letters. How hard would it be to "guess" that someone purchasing a "six-bedroom house" may have children?

They don't include any examples of the other letters, so there's no way of knowing how accurate the other threats were.
