Ponder Peanuts in Russia

Comment: Peanuts are not common in Russia, so when Charles Schulz's comic
was published there, they renamed it "Radishes."

Dog

I'm pretty sure the full title was Existential Crisis of the Kepitalist Radish-heads - Good Grief.

In France, Charlie Brown didn't have peanut butter sandwiches; he had cheese sandwiches.

Peanuts are rare in Canada, so the strip "Peanuts" was called "Those things you eat while you're watching Hockey at the bar, Eh?"

I don't know about Russian, but the strip is indeed called "Rabanitos" ("little radishes") in Spanish. The explanation I've heard is that 'peanuts' doesn't have the same diminutive connotations in Spanish, so they went with something where it was easier to make it sound cute.

In Sweden, it was simply called Snobben, the Swedish name for the dog character Snoopy.

I have never heard about a Radishes title in Russia (it was published as Snupi i ego druzya, 'Snoopy and his friends'), but in addition to Spain, it is indeed known in Denmark as Radiserne. - In Norway, it was known as KnÝttene and here is a Norwegian edition which title English-speaking audiences sometimes can find a bit amusing.

But of course, these changes are nothing in comparison to the Polish People's Republic, where they revised not only the title but the actual strip itself - from each according to his ability to each according to his need.
