That is one of the most amazing things I think I have ever seen! I wonder why this is just now being filmed? Haven't we had film of dolphins for years?

I'm sure this has been kicked around here before (on the old board, if not on this one) - I specifically remember comments about the Sondheim score!

IIRC, the footage is real, but the rings are not created by the dolphins; they're created by a special ring generator installed in the tanks.

ETA: Hmm, I think I'm wrong, and the dolphins do make them themselves, although there is a such a thing as a bubble ring generator. Still can't seem to find the old thread, though.

Even if the original rings are created for them, the creation of the smaller ones from the large one is still stunning on its own.

Oh, the dolphin play is definitely way cool, no doubt about that!

(Still can't find the old thread on this! Am I crazy?)

I think they're just bubbles, but it's still SOOO cute! Reminds me of Finding Nemo

"Bubbles! Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles! My bubbles!"

That's beautiful. How lovely.

Did anyone else notice the music at the end, though? It turns into an odd bit of a song from Into the Woods.
