Saw this twice while going to and from lunch: some small bird species (catbird? They're pretty nasty) giving a crow the business. As in: GET OUT OF MY AIRSPACE YOU NFBSKER!!

Saw two interesting license plates this morning:

TURTLUV

The second, not sure if it was a vanity plate or just the luck:

ZAN ZAN

Florida's standard sequence is 3 by 3, so I suppose at some point ZAN ZAN would be a logical sequence.

I didn't see any black box SUV. I don't need to see your identification. These aren't the drivers we're looking for.

I'm pretty good at mentally filtering out whatever makes it through the ad blocking software but today saw the strangest headline for one of those click-bait "health" articles, just about shouting: "It's like a power wash for your insides!" W-why would you want that? All I can think is that whatever they're selling is going to make you spend a lot of time in the bathroom, and that's a very strange way to sell a product. There's no way I was going to click on it to find out, of course.

Maybe it's aimed at all those people who think they need to cleanse their colons?

Yesterday was one of the hottest days of the year here so far. Heat wave warning hot. Yet I saw two young women getting off a bus wearing heavy black winter coats. I cannot imagine why they would have been dressed like that barring major health issue (?) or shoplifting. But shoplifting - wouldn't they have stood out like the proverbial sore thumb?

Yesterday while driving I saw two parked cars with carpets draped over the top of them. (My guess is they'd just been cleaned and were being left out to dry.)

To get rid of all those nasty toxins that for some strange reason the kidneys (and other body parts) can't handle.

A group of men in their 20's/30's playing badminton on the volleyball court.

(Badminton is an uncommon game, especially among adult men, unless I'm living under a rock or something.)

Very common around here (Atlantic Canada) and Manitoba. Might be a northern thing.

Common around here too
Most of my relatives that I can think of own a set of "beach" badminton rackets, the cheap ones with the even cheaper net that no one uses because it can barely stand under it's own weight.

I think the area's crows have turned into a bunch of wusses; this morning I saw a crow being chased by a mockingbird. Same 'tude, same intensity on the mockingbird's part. (see my previous post on the subject)

On the way to work this morning I saw a vehicle that didn't have an actual license plate. Instead of an official license plate it had a handwritten "plate" that read "Baby Baby", with a little heart drawn over the first 'B'.

I saw a woman carrying a bag full of 6 or 8 red and pink party balloons, ready inflated. It wouldn't have looked particularly odd to be carrying a bunch of that many balloons, but carrying a bunch of balloons in a bag looked odd!

A lot of shops that offer balloon inflation services now offer bags, to prevent them from flying all over the car when you drive away with them.

Because it stops people becoming dangerously distracted when they try and work out why the balloons move forward in the car when it is under acceleration !

I was just filling out an online survey. Almost always these surveys will collect some basic demographic information -- age, gender, etc. Sometimes for gender they will offer a third option along the lines of "transgender/gender nonconforming/other" or simply "prefer not to answer", but this one got really specific. It offered both "transgender M/F" and "transgender F/M" as options. And I'm fairly certain there was even a fifth "other" option on top of that, or maybe the fifth box was "prefer not to answer", but I'm pretty sure there were five.

I don't know if they added the box because their client wanted demographic data that specific, or if transfolk were asking for those boxes. I suppose offering M/F and F/M better than simply having a "transgender" box as I've seen in some surveys, since that isn't really a gender but just an indication that the person doesn't identify as the gender they were assigned at birth. But I always kind of assumed transpersons would just check male or female depending on which they identified as, so I'm not sure why it's being separated out at all.
