Up: Trader Joe's finally has frozen seafood cioppino soup in.

Down: they're not carrying split pea soup again until the fall.

DOWN: one of my dog park friends recently lost his dog.
UP: Shorty died peacefully in his sleep hours after being fed and bathed. He was around 20 years old.
DOWN: Still sucks.

RIP Shorty; you'll no doubt find many of your friends in the heavenly dimension.

Down: I was in Northern Oklahoma where they don't sell you sweet tea. I mean, sure, you can put sugar to make your unsweetened tea taste a little sweeter, but it just isn't the same, dangit!

Up: I was in an area where I could get access to some decent rock stations. Where I live, decent rock'n'roll stations are hard to find and you don't have to go very far to lose the signal. Though maybe I'm being unfair to my neck of the woods: they have both kinds of music, Country and Western.

UP: I'm now fully moved in, and I love it. Except:

DOWN: We apparently can't get cable here because of a financial dispute between Spectrum and the town(I'm in a different township now, although the mailing address is still Seneca Falls). The contractors also didn't bother to install internet lines in this unit(we can still get that through Spectrum); a tech is supposed to come tomorrow to run the line. This complex is supposed to be wired for DirecTV, but apparently the lines for that haven't been fully installed yet, so who knows when that will be.

So you can get Spectrum for internet, but not for cable?

Up: My four-day weekend has begun!

Down: I earned this four-day weekend by working almost 60 hours in the last week. Mostly on my feet. Oh God my feet hurt.

Up: SO and I found an apartment we love.

Down: SO never gave notice so his lease was still year to year, and would have had to give notice before Feb 1.

Up: His leasing company had a waiting list and will let him out of his lease for May 31.

Down: In the 48 hours it took to sort that out, someone took the unit we wanted.

Up: There was another, newer unit in the sister building thats also available for June 1, top floor, larger corner unit, and beautiful views of the city. And we got approved and we sign the lease next week!!

In a coffee shop this morning I hear ds's favourite Bruno Mars and start jonesin to talk to the bud... but then a TLC song comes on that I love. Man I used to listen to this album every day for like a year. I'm allergic to sentiment and nostalgia but this time one help cancel out the other.

UP: I was able to get DH a flight to Orlando last night (shout out to American Airlines)
DOWN: the reason for the flight.

DOWN: We've had some really heavy rains in the SE Australian states which has lead to severe flooding in some parts. My state missed the worst of it but we still got a month's worth of rain in just 2 days which made commuting and any other outdoors activity pretty unpleasant.

UP: I didn't have to leave the house so I was snug as a bug in a rug.

DOWN: Everything in our letterbox got soaked.

UP: All of the letters were for my housemate.

A lot of exciting life changes are on the horizon but they're all clustered together in a way that's making it kind of hard to isolate and prepare for each one. This week my sister is graduating and moving home from college, next week I'm moving into my first apartment with my fiance, the school year is ending in only 6 weeks, the wedding is in 3 months.... all good positive changes but I feel like I'm rushing through everything in one go.

Down: The pest control guy had to reschedule the warranty inspection I had scheduled for today because he was having problems with his truck.
Up: I no longer have to be at home from 11:00 to 1:00 today.

On the Ben and Jerry's theme:

Down (because I love ice cream and esp Ben and Jerry's): around here we get only a handful of their flavours in the grocery store.

Up: Home made burritos for dinner with homemade salsa, homemade refried beans and home made pulled pork filling
Down: No tortillas, I forgot to buy them when I was at the supermarket earlier
Up: I found some taco shells in the cupboard.
Down: They are old and broken and kinda stale.
They'll do.
