Default First world problems

My regular barber is sick, so I have to wait until some time next week to get a haircut.

Tonight I wanted to watch the VHS copy of Bicentennial Man that I had bought a few weeks ago. When I put it on, it was at the credits. I had to wait 2-3 minutes(!!!!) for it to rewind before I could watch it.

Being in the first world does not mean one has to keep up with the jonesing. Just that the opportunity is there. I have DVDs, but I also have a VCR because I have so many VHS's from when those were state of the art.

I just got my cell phone bill. It was 3x the usual amount. ($167!!!!!!!!) Looking at the bill I found that every call I have made or received since July 4th has been counted as originating from or received in Harrisonburg, Va and charged as roaming. I am not now nor have I ever been in Harrisonburg, Va. I have not left my home area in months.

I checked my phone. I have roaming blocked on my phone controls. I have data locked; everything except calls and texts are blocked (my pharmacy sends free texts to tell me when my prescriptions are ready, and the state sends free alert texts).

I have called the company and they have escalated the case to the next level and George (who has no direct number) said he will try to find a solution and will email me.

My temporary solution is to shut off the damn cell.

Same for me. I can't come up with any Disney movies (excluding the Pixar ones) that I don't have solely on VHS, if I have them at all.

Seaboe
I actually asked if someone else could do it, but another customer already had an appointment with the only other person there. But either way, yeah, I'd rather have the same person do it every time so I don't have to explain how I want it cut to someone else.

Netflix has a number of their traditional animated features available for streaming. Far from the whole catalog, but they have Mulan, Hercules, Dumbo, Pocahontas, Aristocats, a bunch of Tinkerbell stuff, and many others. They have almost the whole catalog available for DVD in mail, and the newer stuff in Bluray.

You can get a program and use your computer to transfer all of those onto DVDs. My Dad did it for all of our stuff that wasn't replaceable. The old film reels of me as a kid were transferred onto a VHS tape, and now we're transferring it onto a DVD (yet we still have the film reels, which confuses me).

I used my sewing machine to make curtains. Boring old curtains instead of cool costumes.

Which you can then use to make kids some play clothes, so they can go romping around the village and hills singing "Do, a Deer!"

No, actually, the song name is Do-Re-Mi, and is about teaching the solfege musical syllables, so it really is "do, a deer". Confirmed in this lyrics site:

You're both wrong. It is "D'oh!" "A deer!" "A female deer!" as seen in this documentary

D'oh! (A Deer!)

I thought I had reread myself enough times to avoid any mistakes.

ETA:
So I was right! but then I was spanked anyways!
Now I'm confused and I no longer know right from wrong!

The California Earthquake Authority apparently has no way of making a payment online. I have to actually mail them a check to renew my earthquake insurance.
