But why is Pelosi "crying" and "screaming"? If it's a charicature, I haven't seen the emotional (hysterical?) behavior it's based on.

I have a lot of time to kill, and so I watch and search the news sites frequently. Other than a few press updates since negotiations began, both she and Chuck Schumer have been pretty low key.

I guess women, powerful or not, are expected to follow a certain pattern of emotional behavior.

I wonder if that’s what will finally do in Trump’s administration. As a whole, people are a fickle, divisive bunch, but there’s one thing we all agree on: don’t eff with our TV shows! I’m just sayin’ even his supporters might reach their limit if he keeps preempting their shows.

Just for the record, I've been ticked off at trump since the 80's. Check the tabloids of that time. Also, please note that the only part of the tabloids I read then or now are the headlines as displayed at the grocery check out.

I had to think of something! It just fit. Nothing against the Speaker of the House. I find her to be rather soft-spoken in her response to Dear Leader. Her name just fit that's all.

ETA: Mouse--Not my business how old you are, but back in the late 70s, President Carter gave a speech at 8pm instead of the usual 9pm so as not to interfere with Monday Night Football. I do believe it was a Skins-Cowboys game, which was then a serious rivalry. He mentioned it in his speech. Then there was a playoff game in the 80s that kept being interrupted by CBS' special reports on some nuclear summit between President Reagan and whoever ran the USSR (I don't think it was Gorbachev). People were not amused to put it mildly! Yes, world peace is important, but c'mon man! This is football!

But there's a reason it just seems to fit to depict the woman who is third in line for the presidency as crying and screaming over something. I'm not saying you were targeting her intentionally -- just the opposite, actually. I think it was what came to mind. But we need to be aware of those insidious memes that pop into our minds.

If it helps, I think there could be something instead about sealing the border up tight, or Trump flexing America's mighty might. . . .

Actually I did go to bed early because I was feeling headache-y.
The upside of that is that Pearl, Steely Dan and Gobi followed me, this sparing them from Dear Leader's speech and me from an animal cruelty rap. I don't know where the other two kitties were--upstairs maybe?

You know, I was just wondering the other day if telling him, "The Democrats say you won't give up on the wall" wouldn't work.
