Looks interesting. Time for another archive binge (haven't had the chance to do one of those in a while).

Isn't Quebec City just another name for Montreal, the capital of the province of Quebec?

You don't need two stops in the same province!
It's not like it would take a day trip to get from anywhere in the province to where the concert is taking place, right?

Archive bingeing is pretty much the only way I read serialised webcomics these days. It's pretty much the only way I read serialised print comics as well, now that most of them are available online.

Even back in the 00s before most comics went digital some of my comics obsessed friends were giving up on buying monthly issues if they knew that the title was going to get reprinted in collected editions.

I'm also a big fan of the Netflix model of dropping an entire season in one go over the old fashioned weekly episode model, I guess partially because Australian TV channels had some pretty awful practices when I was younger: releasing episodes out of order, waiting up to a year or even longer to start showing shows that had already aired overseas, often having long breaks because of local events while the episodes kept airing overseas, editing down shows to fit into shorter screen slots, etc etc. Screw those jerks!

Edit: one time a local station was rebroadcasting old episodes of Blackadder but they had a 50 minute window to fill each week so they showed one and a half episodes every week, cutting one episode in half and screening the second half the following week.

The entire Australian TV system is run by Fox executives in charge of science fiction programming?

Yeah, when you're trying to follow the plot of something that posts one page a week, binging the archive is the only way to get any sort of decent motion.

Unless it's Girl Genius, in which case even that won't help.

And the few comic books I follow I exclusively get in graphic novel form.

I've never heard the term "archive bingeing". I love it. That is how I do podcasts. I wait for a whole season of a podcast (especially serialised ones) and then binge over one long road trip, or a few days of exercising at the gym (it is that time of year, after all).

Archive Bingeing. My new favourite term.

At some point Girl Genius MIGHT wrap up a plot line without starting three more in its place, but I don't have high hopes.

Try as I might, I cannot sweep all of the snow off of my car roof because of the luggage rack. I did the best I could though.

I just got bored due to nothing ever actually getting resolved, just dropped because new plot twists overshadowed it.

And for crying out loud, the comic spent something like four years on the same in-comic day. And it only advanced due to a time skip.

Yesterday I was moved to a new cubicle at work in order to be closer to the team I'm working with. My new cube is pretty much a mirror image of my old one, meaning everything is exactly backwards from what I'm accustomed to. So if I want to, say, grab one of the plastic utensils I keep stashed in the cabinet, now the cabinet is behind me and to the left, not behind me and to the right like it used to be. That's totally throwing me off.

Guessing you're not a fan of Grrl Power then.

Grrl Power is different i that there hasn't been a single major crisis whose resolution was never getting moved toward. The First Day did take a long time, but things were actually happening.

And it was also a single page per week for a very long time, while Girl Genius has been updating three times per week for over a decade at least.

I beg to differ regarding resolution, we still don't know if OmniGal and pals managed to defeat KopyKraut. At the rate of several years per day, "several months" will take decades to catch up to.

I don't think there's the same level of anticipation about the resolution of the girls' RPG night as there is about defeating The Other and saving Europe.

I gave up on that one [ETA: Grrl Power] a while ago. There was some kind of complicated plot line involving politics and extraterrestrial vampires, and I lost track of what was going on and decided I didn't want to put the work into trying to figure it out.

Not sure why Girl Genius keeps my interest despite, I admit, at least as convoluted a plot line. Maybe I'm just more interested in bears and cats than I am in vampires. Or maybe I think more of the jokes are funny.

And I suppose I think it's only realistic that it would take a long time to defeat the Other. Seems to have been a couple of thousand years so far; why would it now wrap up in a week or two?

Someone took my soda from the break room fridge! I bought a sandwich from Subway for lunch today, but brought a soda from home because it's cheaper than buying one at the restaurant or the vending machine. When I went to get it from the fridge at lunch time it was gone! This never happened when I left sodas in the downstairs break room.
