Icon84 Wasatch Mountains

Comment: A few years ago, I heard that the name of our local mountain
range, "The Wasatch Mountains" means "frozen penis" in the Ute indian
language.

The main link I found in my poor excuse for research is
http://www.i4m.com/think/wasatch/

It references a book by LaVan Martineau, which recounts the tale from
Archie Rogers, and states that a Ute Indian Chief named Francis McKinley
tells the same story.

Is it really what the word "wasatch" means, or is it just a funny story
that got out of hand?

There is a mountain feature in the Philipppines which is called, in Tagalog, Susong Dalaga Mountains, which roughly translates to Young Lady Breasts or Young Maid Breasts.

About 14 degrees 30 minutes north, 121 degrees 35 mnutes east, on:

There's a hil in the Clwydian Range in Norths Wales called Moel Famau, which basically means Hill of the Breast. It even has a nipple on top.

Any moment now someone's going to bring up Lake Titicaca. I just know it.

I suppose they figured it out when members of the Ute tribe starting giggling each time they mentioned it like a group of fifth graders. "Hee hee. Wasatch."

Hey let's get bigger, let's remember an out of this world classic. Don't forget about Uranus. Haw haw haw.
