It's like people with guns are trying to prove once and for all that letting people have guns is a terrible idea.

I've seen comments that the only reason we are seeing so many shootings in the news is because the liberal media is trying to find them and drag them out to influence the debate.

For the record, I had trouble finding information on this incident on any of the major news sites right after it was posted. Now they all appear to have a story, but I don't see it running as 'breaking news' anywhere.

Because CNN was busy running coverage of a much more important news event: Beyonce's press conference.

Dang, if Atlanta only had as strict gun laws as Chicago and D.C., none of this would have happened!

Actually, the Supreme Court struck down Chicago's gun ban a couple of years ago.

I'm sure the spike in gun crime that we've seen since then is completely unrelated, though.

I'm sure that the conspiracy nuts are already claiming that the whole thing was setup by Obama's minions to make gun owners seem dangerous so that he can take away our guns and declare himself dictator before the 2016 election.

Chicago continues to have among the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. And it's roaring gun violence trend started well before the Supreme Court's ruling. It seems like those prone to violence were not paying attention to the law anyway.

Gun crimes went down between 1994 and 2011. They started going back up in 2012.

More than a quarter of the firearms seized on the streets here by the Chicago Police Department over the past five years were bought just outside city limits in Cook County suburbs, according to an analysis by the University of Chicago Crime Lab. Others came from stores around Illinois and from other states, like Indiana, less than an hour’s drive away. Since 2008, more than 1,300 of the confiscated guns, the analysis showed, were bought from just one store, Chuck’s Gun Shop in Riverdale, Ill., within a few miles of Chicago’s city limits.

I don't suppose any of these people were at the scene, were they?
