Default Stephen Fry faces blasphemy probe after God comments

Police in the Republic of Ireland have launched an investigation after a viewer claimed comments made by Stephen Fry on a TV show were blasphemous.

Officers are understood to be examining whether the British comedian committed a criminal offence under the Defamation Act when he appeared on RTE in 2015.

I'll give 'um that. Say what you want about the Olympians, but at least they were consistent in their inconsistency.

Actually, the Olympians themselves tended to present themselves as being wise and all-knowing. It was the Greeks who viewed them as being a bunch of a-holes.

Yeah is there any problem in the Greek myths that can't be traced back to "Zeus can't keep it in his pants?"

The Trojan War is the only one that comes to mind.

Which happened because Paris couldn't keep it in his toga.

Well, the judgement of Paris was needed only because Zeus didn't want to decide between Hera, his wife, and Athena and Aphrodite, his daughters, who of them was the most beautiful. He send them to Paris, whom Aphrodite bribed with the love of Helena, most beautiful women of mankind, wife of Menelaos.

So the Trojaner War can at least be traced back to "Zeus and the women".

Except that was Zeus actually being smart for once and avoiding the inevitable catfight.

The catfight was the plan all along. It is really "Drama queen not invited to party because 'Drama!' causes drama."
