No Police Account Changes in Killing of Texas 15-Year-Old

The Police Department in Balch Springs, Tex., said Sunday that the officer, whose name has not been released, fired on a car carrying the teenager, Jordan Edwards, a freshman at Mesquite High School in nearby Mesquite, Tex., because the car was reversing down a street toward the officer in an “aggressive manner.”

But Jonathan Haber, the police chief, told reporters at a news conference on Monday afternoon that video showed the opposite. He said the officer fired when the car was “moving forward as the officers approached,” according to The Associated Press. The Dallas County medical examiner’s report ruled the death a homicide caused by a “rifle wound” to the head.

The car was reportedly driving away?
I've heard of soldiers using more discretion when in active war zones.

With you on this Dreams. It's one of the three most basic rules of gun safety: 1) the gun is always loaded and should be treated as such, 2) never point a gun at something you'd hate to see a gaping hole in, and 3) know your target and what lies beyond it.

I'm fairly certain firing blindly at a truck in a populated area with many non bulletproof civilians around, qualifies as a violation of the third rule.

In parts of the US, civilian police forces are better-equipped than the standing armies of some countries. But without the training that armies usually get.
